I Never Pay Full Price For My Kids Clothing! Find Out How!

Never Pay Full PriceI never pay full price for kids clothing and I make money while doing so! How is that even possible your probably wondering? Read on and I will tell you how!

I live on a tight budget, not just a tight budget, but a very small tight budget. I still have to provide for my children and I still want them to have things that other kids have and to be able to be in style if they wish. I’ve become a very savvy shopper!

I do on occasion shop at thrift stores, who doesn’t? But only if what I’m buying is a good quality item and in great condition. Unfortunately I never get “hand me downs” of anything either.

My Favorite Way to Shop? Clearance!

I buy most stuff on clearance at the end of seasons. I buy 1 and 2 sizes bigger for the next year. Depending on price and what’s available. I do 2 sizes in case they grow more than anticipated and what the kids can’t wear, I sell on Ebay for more than I paid for it. I have spent as a little as $.50 for a shirt or a pair of shorts. Every chance I get, I shop the clearance section first!

A recent deal I scored was at JCPenny, in store. I got my son 3 pairs of pants and 2 shirts. Total price was $56, I paid $14! Not bad for JCPenny.

I shop on Ebay as well and it’s not just used clothing that you get good deals on. Here is a great example. My son is very picky when it comes to sneakers. His favorite brand that fit “just right” for him are Sketchers. Now we all know how expensive they can be! Well, I just bought 2 pair last week, 2 different colors and sizes, for $18.95 per pair with free shipping! Original price was $54 per pair!

And just today on Kmart.com, I got my daughter 2 pairs of casual boots for a total price of $18.53, I did have to pay shipping of $8.95, but knocked of $2.13 with my points for a grand total of $25.35. Not bad considering the total of the boots would have been, $74.94 before shipping.

Another site that usually has really awesome clearance deals is The Children’s Place. Some of the deals I have gotten my son include fleece pants, T-shirts and more for as little as $1.50 each. I have gotten jeans for as little as $5 and my daughter T-Shirts and leggings for as little as $2.50.

I also get great deals at Walmart. Sometimes their prices are so low, like the basics, starting at just $3, that you don’t need a clearance sale!

I love shopping deal sites like Zulily, Hollar, and more! I usually visit these sites for holiday purchase and or birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, etc. Another way I save is by buying for a bunch of them at the same time to save on shipping cost and to use coupons codes, etc.

Never Pay Full Price

Tips for saving even more money even on Clearance!

I shop through my Swagbucks shop & earn links when shopping online! Don’t have a Swagbucks account, you can sign up here! Get SB’s for shopping that you can redeem for cash and gift cards. *You can also earn SB a ton of different ways everyday!

I use my rewards credit cards to get cash back or reward points.

*Combine both of these when you shop to get the most for your money, earn more money as you have to spend money. And I don’t even shop just to shop! I only shop for what we need, I rarely splurge on wants except for holiday shopping, and I’m always earning points and getting money back.

You can too!

Never pay full price again!

7 Ways I Make Money As A Single Stay At Home Mom

Are You a SAHM or a SSAHM?

Being a stay at home mom can be a tough decision to make. I know when I decided to be a stay at home mom, I felt like I wasn’t contributing to the household income especially since we lived on a budget. I started to look for ways to make money online but wouldn’t take up a lot of time.

Swagbucks was the first way I started making money. Earning gift cards that I could use towards birthdays, anniversaries, and especially Christmas. I was quite surprised at how much I was suddenly earning, and it helped the budget too!

Then I thought about Ebay, I was always buying gently used clothes for the kids and saving a ton of money so I thought why not try to sell on Ebay and not only save money but make money too! So I started selling gently used stuff and started earning a few extra dollars this way too.

Then I became a single stay at home mom!

I knew I had to earn even more to pay bills and be able to provide for my kids. I decided to start a blog to share what I’ve learned throughout the years about living on a budget, family and parenting, and more. Now this was a chance I was willing to take when it came to starting a blog. I had to buy a hosting site because, quite frankly, you can’t REALLY make much money with a free site. I used my credit card and jumped in! Determination will get you anywhere, it just takes time. I just kept building it up and adding more, adding different monetizing strategies, etc. Now, I am a full-time blogger and working in Direct Sales too!

I have compiled a list of the top 7 ways I earn money to support my family. I hope it helps you to do the same, whether you are just looking for a couple of ways to make some extra cash or looking to find a way to be home with your kids, these are what work for me.

My Money Makers:

  1. I Run This Blog – And you can too! This was the toughest decision I had to make because it did cost money to get started, but it was well worth it to buy a hosting service so I could monetize my blog and make it my own. I am passionate about many things, mostly my family and how to provide for them, so this is what my blog is based on. You can get more information here. This is what I used to get started and have not regretted it all! It’s very affordable.
  2. Swagbucks – I have been using Swagbucks for at least 5 years now, probably longer! An easy way to earn cash or gift cards. So many different ways to earn through Swagbucks. I cash out at least $25 a month, most of the time a lot more, just giving you the bottom line. There is a bonus available if you sign up this month!
  3. Ebay – I sell anything and everything that I no longer need or the kids have outgrown, etc. on Ebay. Of course it does have to be in good use-able or gently used condition. Nobody wants to buy something that is ripped, torn, stained, etc. You get the drift. This really helps to put money back towards new or gently worn clothing/books/toys for your kids. *Small fees involved when selling on Ebay.
  4. Etsy – Are you crafty? Do you have a hobby? If you make anything handmade and enjoy it, why not profit from it? Sell handmade items on Etsy, and right now if you use this link, you can start with 40 free listings! Therefore, it costs you nothing to get started! *Small fees involved when selling on Etsy.
  5. Direct Sales – I have just started in direct sales but what a help in the money making department! I am a direct sales consultant for Linen World. There is no cost to join, no quota’s to meet, and free web page made for you. This one is my favorite, I earn 20% in commissions on everything I sell, and you can too! I also have just joined with Party Time Mixes as an Independent Consultant. This one, I have to pay around $10 a month for, but the prices are low so it is not hard to at least make enough to cover the cost of your web page even in the beginning. Commission on this one is also 20% to start. Best thing about Direct Sales today is you can choose to do it all online. You don’t have to do home parties unless you want too!
  6. EarningStation – This is another new one for me, but I really like it already. It is so easy to earn money on EarningStation as well. I don’t know to much about it yet except doing surveys and such so you’ll have to check it out yourself. What do you got to lose?
  7. MavenX – This is really cool! You make boards, kind of like Pinterest, except these boards can earn you money! Yup, all you do is make boards of products you love or think others will love from the networks that MavenX works with, and if someone buys something through your boards, you earn a commission. Make sure you share your boards any way you can. Facebook, Twitter, etc. If you already have a blog or are thinking about starting one (#1), it is a great way to make some extra money through your blog as well.

These are the top 7 ways I make an income to earn money online and take care of family. Do you work online to make extra money? How do you make money online?

My Basic Blogging Tools

Blogging ToolsMy Blogging Tools

As you all know, I’m a new blogger and I’m here to show you that you can start with just the basic blogging tools and very little money. I did a ton of research before starting and was still so nervous to actually begin the set up process. Finally, I told myself, “If your going to do it, just do it!”

Once I started, I realized I could learn a lot more through trial and error rather than reading a ton of stuff that ended up being extremely contradicting. One said this, the other said no, not this. It got confusing and frustrating all at once. Believe me, there was a lot of trial and errors when I jumped in. Still are at some points, like adding the Country Cabin Store, which I am still working on. It is up and working if you want to check it out, just not too many products yet.

It is also a lot of fun and oh so exciting to be on this new journey! I’ve had my blog up for a couple of months now and I’ve written some about making money with your blog.

Right now my basic (very basic) blogging tools include:

    • HP 2000 Notebook PC
    • HP Deskjet 2132 All-In-One Printer/Copier/Scanner
    • Apple iPhone 4 (yes it is WAY out of date, but it still works and I can’t afford to upgrade just yet)
    • Tons of paper, pens and pencils
    • And last but surely not least, my Keurig! Gotta have that coffee to keep me going.

There are a ton of Apps on my laptop and on my phone that help tremendously as well. I very much want this blog to be a huge success so I treat it like a job, and one that I love! I try to be consistent with the time I “work”, like I would if I had a 40 hour work week and even the occasional over-time.

Making Money With Your Blog

Making Money

I figure it’s never too early to start making money with your blog or at least setting up ways to do so. My blog only has 10 subscribers at this time, and not a whole lot of page views per day, but I know everyone has to start somewhere.

Hours upon hours, oh heck, days, have been spent improving my blog until I felt it was just right. I have added affiliates, added a store, and try to post and share everyday!

I have signed up with Viglink and so can you! If your a new blogger and anything like me, you probably spend a lot of time checking your blog stats to see how it’s getting viewed, etc. Instead of wasting all that time just checking on things, use that time to add to your blog. Then just keep sharing on all your social media platforms and in any blog groups you are a member of. Check it out here. http://viglink.com/?vgref=2920678
