Being Thankful, Even When You’re Not Where You Want To Be In Life

Being thankful, even when you’re not where you want to be in life can be hard. Life can be tough, and for some even tougher than tough.

Ever wonder, “What the heck do I have to be thankful for?” “Nothing ever goes the way I want it, no matter how hard I try or how hard I work at it.” Feel like you just want to give up? This is me, and my life! Living like this can get pretty depressing and add a ton of stress to your life!

Then I have to stop myself and think, ” My children are fed and have a roof over their heads.” I have this to be thankful for and what I am MOST thankful for!  They most definitely don’t always get what they want, but they do have what they need.

My work may be very frustrating at times, but I am making just enough to pay the bills. I have this to be thankful for. Remembering to look on the positive side, not the negative side can help a lot. I need to realize that no matter how much I want to be earning money through my blog, I have in all actuality just started (only been blogging for about 5 months now). There is money invested in this venture, so I really do need this to be a success. How do I do this? I work harder even when I’m frustrated (after taking a break and analyzing my work, of course).

I know I have been doing this a lot lately.

For example, I started in direct sales. I am a consultant for Linen World. Now, I just started less than a month ago, however, I want it to work for me so bad, that I’m already feeling down because I haven’t had many sales yet and my Launch Party seems to have been a flop. At least that’s how I feel.

So back too, remembering to be thankful for what we have. I need to remember, I don’t have any money invested in this company so if it doesn’t work out, I’m out nothing. I need to remember, all good things take time and no good business happens overnight!

Because I’ve always had to live on a budget, I know how to get by. I just prefer to get past “just getting by”, but that doesn’t seem to be in the near future. This is not really a problem, but it is goal, cause nobody wants to live on a budget their entire life! So yes, being thankful for only what you have can be hard sometimes too. Everyone wants to catch that break.

Moral of my story? Yes, life can be tough, but we always have something to be thankful for and we must remember this! What are you thankful for when times get tough?

Are You Ready to Blog?

Are you Ready to BlogReady to Blog?

Have you ever thought about starting a blog or had an idea/inspiration that you wanted to share with others, but didn’t know how?

Well, I’m here to tell you, if I can do it, so can you! I knew absolutely nothing about setting up a blog, but I did have an idea and I love to write! Some want to blog just to share knowledge. Some want to blog to make friends and just because they love to write. But most, if they are honest, want to blog to make extra money (myself included).

Most believe that it cost a ton of money to have your own web page or blog. It does not. As of right now, I have very little income, I’m a single mom, and I have bills to pay too. I took a chance, paid for my hosting, got my domain name, and started blogging.

My suggestion

Before you jump in, you do need to have an idea of what you want to do. Nobody wants to pay for a domain and then say, “now what?”. I use WordPress for my domain, it is simple and they have step by step help for setting up your blog, they even have free themes for you to use. If you don’t like the free ones, they have others that you can buy as well. A theme is like a preset page. You change the info, pictures, categories, etc, to what you want on your blog.

Am I making a ton of money blogging, nope, at least not yet. BUT, I did only start my blog about 5 months ago, and I am starting to see a little money here and there. Most of all, I enjoy what I do and I’m home for little guy everyday! I know the money will come as I become more known.

WP Engine has different plans to get you started. They range from personal (to get you started) to enterprise grade. Starting out, all you need is a personal plan (my recommendation). If you are already a blogger looking for a better host service or a business, you may want a different plan. This is entirely up to you.

WP Engine offers a high standard hosting service that keeps your blog fully protected. They are leading the industry in managed WordPress hosting. WP Engine may cost a little more than other hosting sites, but when you use WP Engine hosting, you know you are safe and they are there for you 24/7! Check them out now and get more information here. Then you decide if you want a safe secure hosting plan.

Right now they are offering “risk free” for 60 days!  And they offer free automated site migration plugin with every account! Why not give it a try?

Linqia – Review Products, Share your Posts, Get Compensated

Linqia LogoProduct Reviews for Compensation

I found another site that wants bloggers for product reviews! I have read nothing but good things about Lingia. Payout is within 10 days after campaign close via PayPal.

Get accepted for a campaign, do a product review, and get compensated! If you have a large following it sounds like you may make more money and get more campaigns as well. The more campaigns you do, the higher you perform, the more you make!

If you know anything about the Activate program through Bloglovin’, well, this is kind of the same thing, except your not sharing your entire blog on the site.

I’m still a small blog but I signed up anyway. Starting at the bottom and working my way up is fine with me. Linqia says you can expect to receive a campaign at least once a month.

Linqia also has a referral program! You can get a flat fee of $5 per referral if they are excepted and then 15% matched commission on their first campaign. Not bad for a referral!

I am starting at $.80 per click (per review). And so can you! What this means is, after I do a review post and share it via my social platforms, each time someone clicks the link they provide, in the post, I get $.80.

Start earning now.

My Major Blog Fail, Then vs. Now

My Major Blog FailMajor Blog Fail!

I’ve been blogging for about 4 months now. I read blogs for years and always “wished I could that”. Then one day, I said to myself, well, I can be a blogger too. I did a ton of research, read more blogs, and thought, heck, blogging is easy! So why was I putting it off, I asked myself.

A week or so later, I was reading a blog post on Facebook about making money through blogging. Now keep in mind, I had just gotten an associate’s degree in Business Administration in May 2016, at the age of 42. (Proud mommy moment especially since I was going through a divorce at the same time!) But anyway…

I was not finding work, no matter how hard I tried, how many interviews I went to, or what field I was looking in. (Desperate times call for desperate measures and I knew within 6 months the student loans would be starring me in the face!) I needed an income, now.

Back to that blog post

I wish I could remember which blog it was, but honestly, I was reading so many, that I just don’t have a clue. I clicked on the link for Bluehost, and bought my host service. Blogging world, here I come, I was officially a blogger! I set up my blog fairly easy with WordPress and so it began. I can’t even count how many times I changed my theme, just feeling it wasn’t right.

Finally I got the look I wanted and thought I was doing well, I started writing blog post, haha, when I look back at them now I cringe, I literally cringe! You can see one of them here. Go on, check it out, have a laugh, but DO NOT share a post like this, ever! No wonder I wasn’t getting followers, or any email sign ups, etc. This was absolutely horrible!

I quickly learned blogging was a lot of work, especially for someone new to the scene. Through trial and error, I did and still am, learning many new things. I am getting followers, and have even started to make money, nothing to write home about yet but it is a good start. After 4 months of blogging fails, picking myself up and starting over, I do believe I’m heading in the right direction. I love blogging too much to not figure it out and have fun with it!

Don’t give up

Anyway, I just wanted to share my fail so if there is anyone who thinks they are failing or not doing well, please don’t give up if you love blogging. Recalculate your blog and yourself, ask for help through Facebook groups and keep moving forward. You learn through the mistakes you make and it all takes time.

*Tip, you have to like what you are doing and what you are writing about. If you don’t, your going to feel bored or hurry through it just to get your “post” out there. Your readers can feel the positive and negative energy in your post.

If your reading this and have thought about blogging but haven’t taken that step yet, take it from me, it is fun, yes, even when you make mistakes and get frustrated, the writing and sharing part is fun. I love to share my thoughts with others and this is the best way to do it.

If you choose to start a blog, Bluehost (link above) is having a special of $3.95 a month! Check it out and jump on the bandwagon in the blogging world for a special price!
